Experts across 11 European countries gathered in Rome for the official launch of the CARING NATURE project. The kick-off meeting, which took place on the 10th and 11th of January, 2024, set the start of a 3-year research and innovation project, funded by the European Commission, under the Horizon Europe program. CARING NATURE has the ambition to lower the carbon footprint of the healthcare sector, by developing, testing and validating 10 innovative and sustainable solutions for healthcare, and its journey has officially started !

During the 2 day-meeting, all project partners gathered to share insights, and discuss the planned activities within the project. Solution providers and co-developers presented their strategies and methodologies for the development of the CARING NATURE’s solution.

The kick-off also included an engaging guided tour of the Fondazione Policlinico Gemelli energy management system, providing partners with an opportunity to discuss strategies for optimising energy consumption in the healthcare system. On the 2nd day, attention was drawn entirely to the 10 solutions to be developed, and the ways to reach the 5 project objectives. Partners are ready for the exciting journey ahead over the next three years.

CARING NATURE’s success rests on the collaboration of 19 partners from 11 European countries, with top-level and complementary expertise towards in the field of sustainability and healthcare.
